• I get tired of hearing 'Well the book was SO MUCH better than the movie.' Why is that? Well, they say (they?) we masses don't have an attention span past two hours so someone in Hollywood apparently chipped a rule into the cement at Grauman's Chinese Theater stating that all movies will be under two hours. Or maybe they just had a bladder problem. So now we're left with these half-baked movies, usually with lots of bright colored lights and a few explosions to keep us entertained, but with little more to go on than the CliffsNotes of the plot and the characters in the book. I think the world has changed since the two hour rule was written and it's about time they started telling quality stories again. Thankfully there are a few people out there that are SO rich they are exempt from the two hour rule and actually make good movies, and even sequels of good movies. But the sequel is usually not as good as the first one.
   
• When someone tells you the debate is over, case closed, it is what it is, you can bet without an iota of uncertainty that the debate is NOT over, that the case is NOT closed, that it is NOT what he says it is.  Especially in the case of  "Global Warming."
   
• As I see it Kyoto is nothing more than global affirmative action. India and China and many other countries have been exempted because they are 'developing' nations. That serves only to economically hamstring the US in favor of them. All things being equal, as long as we tie one hand behind our back. I was in college when Allan Bakke made his case. Sounds familiar. No doubt the governments of the world will screw it up as badly now as they did then.
   
• I think it's the height of Californian arrogance and hypocrisy for some Hollywood type who thinks he's A Star to tell me I need to unplug my cell phone charger to save the planet while they're out blowing up buildings and 50 cars making a stupid movie, then jetting off to the Cannes Film Festival in France to promote it.
   
• I would like to know where my senator is when it comes to this global warming tripe. Is Senator Inhofe hanging himself out there all by himself?
   
• When did we come up with the "One Guy" rule? Say a bunch of  local residents want to display a Nativity scene or a cross on a water tower, or the Ten Commandments. All it takes is One Guy to overrule. Is that democracy? Will somebody please explain the One Guy Rule to me so I can use it?
