They have no idea what the ramifications are of this law or what it will do to their economy.

 

Cap and trade is ..... oh wait. I see.  Down in the article, a Carbon tax that will bring in

$50 million a year to run their Global Warming Beauracracy.  It's a (government) jobs program!

 

Forcing one company to buy 'credits' from another company (with a small slice of the pie for the House) will not change the climate one iota. It will, however, transfer money from one hand to another. And as usual the citizen will be the one getting screwed.

What Can Conservatives Do Now?

I share the frustration of Bill in Stuart, Florida. You write letters and make phone calls and the only response is a form letter so benign that you can't tell the topic. I wrote my Senator on two different topics and got back the identical form letter from each. Why bother?

The Republican Party is a brand name that does not promote the Conservative values that built this country. It does not embrace the Conservatism that is needed to ensure Individual Freedom and Liberty.

Politicians on all sides have come to believe that it is their job to "help" you through every aspect of your life, when actually most of us would be a lot better off if government would simply get out of our face and let us live our lives.

All laws do one of two things: They either require you to do something, or they prohibit you from doing it. Either way, it's force. Obviously some laws are necessary to keep order in a society, especially since there's so many stupid people without a lick of common sense that we all have to deal with.

But it's all too easy to overstep and start to want to control every aspect of our daily lives from the time we get up to until we go to bed. From the cradle to the grave. It will all be ok if we would just let them take care of all of us so they than control the outcome, as well as our interaction along the way.

Sorry, life in a free society doesn't work that way. Freedom is messy.

Liberty means risk.

I was born into Freedom. It's sad to see it being destroyed by Socialism.

We should take that 'excess' to help the little guy who is struggling."  Yeah right, so now gas goes up to $7 a gallon to make up the difference. Exxon shareholders (that's you and me, baby) are not going to be denied a profit.

Hoooey. Look who's calling the Kettle Black.  I hope Obama's RACE

for the White House doesn't cause him to completely forget that his

RACE isn't really the issue in this RACE.  In fact, since he's a man

with a heritage from the white RACE as well as the black RACE, the

RACE issue should pretty much balance itself out.  I don't believe

anyone except Obama himself has been telling RACE stories or

making references to his RACE. Yet he tells us now after watching

him in the Primary RACE that Republicans are now going to start

making RACE an issue.  So come on, Mr. Obama, let's get on

with the issues. We won't bring up the RACE issue if you'll only

stop reminding us of your RACE in every speech.  However,

as this RACE progresses if you insist on making RACE an issue,

don't be surprised if someone notices that you seem to have

a whole deck of RACE cards up your sleeve.

Today, we delivered 350,000 signatures to the Senate urging them to drill for oil domestically.  The message is clear:  hard-working families are struggling to pay high gas prices and they are demanding immediate action from Congress.

This is just the first round of petition deliveries.  As our movement continues to grow, it's our goal to have 3 million petition signatures by both parties' conventions this fall.
